Residence applications through MOS
The channel changed, the requirements did not.
Since 27 April 2026 residence permit applications are filed electronically through the Case Handling Module. That is a change in how you file, not in what the office assesses.
What exactly changed
Previously the application was filed on paper or in person at the voivodeship office. Since 27 April 2026 the route is the Case Handling Module, an electronic system. The change concerns the channel: how the document reaches the office.
What the office assesses has not changed. The basis of stay, the documents, proof of income or of the purpose of your stay remain the same subject of examination. Filing electronically does not make an application easier, only faster to arrive.
What stays the same
- Competence: the case is handled by the voivode competent for your place of residence.
- The scope of documents: the system does not lower the evidentiary requirements.
- Deadlines in official requests: they run from delivery and are binding.
- Attending in person where the office requires it, for instance for fingerprints.
Where it is easiest to go wrong
The biggest risk is not the system itself but the sense that, because the application is filed in a few steps on a screen, it is a technical act. The form still requires you to settle which permit you are applying for, and that is a legal decision, not a pick from a list.
- Choosing a basis of stay by feel, without checking whether the conditions are met.
- Attachments uploaded in poor quality or incomplete, which ends in an official request.
- A correspondence address that stops being current during the case.
- Assuming that because the system accepted the application, the application is complete.
A notification in the system is delivery too
If the office asks you to supplement your file, the deadline runs from delivery, including when the letter arrives in the system. Check the account regularly: an unread message does not stop the clock.
